Robinson Road

Originally named New Road, it was renamed Church Road by 1864, then Post Office Road after the new post office was built there in 1895 (which later moved to the High Street in 1928). In about 1940 it was renamed again, this time Robinson Road, after Sarah Robinson, founder of the British School. The south side of Robinson Road was demolished in 1995 to make way for the High Street relief road and new development.
